Surgery Day!

So today was the day for both boys to have surgery! Bryce had his tonsils and adenoids removed and tubes placed in both ears, and Jace had adenoids removed and tubes put in both ears. I am really hoping that this solves most of our problems with ear infections and sinus problems. We arrived at 6:00 am and signed in both boys. They had a little time to play but as you well know Jace is not a morning person and was not in the mood. Bryce was a different story. He was all wide eyed and bushy tailed and he was ready to get in the floor of the waiting room and play with his tractors. KK, MiMi, Paw, Angela, Shaun and I all waited for the moment they would call us to the back. Well it came quicker than was expected. We took both boys to the back where we put them in gowns, got their armbands, weighed them and checked temps. Bryce was really wary of all of this that was happening so fast, Jace couldn't care less. Then came the fun part. Both boys were given some medication to make them a little drowsy and they were all over the place. Bryce kept telling us he wasn't sleepy even though he couldn't keep his little eyes open and he was wobbling all over the place. LOL. Jace wasn't trying to hide how sleepy he was, he laid down in my lap and was just staring off in space. When it was time, they came for Jace and took him back. It took them only about 20 minutes to complete Jace's surgery and then it was Bryce's turn. Well, he wasn't to sure about going back with the nurse and he didn't want to keep his gown on either so he was running around the room gown less in only his diaper talking about how he didn't want to go. When we finally got him to go with her it only took about 45 minutes for them to complete his surgery. Both boys ended up in the same room both with tears running down their faces and my heart breaking. Bryce only wanted me or daddy to hold him and he was still so drowsy from the medication. Jace cried and cried until the medicine wore off and then we had to send him home he was running around the room and screaming and playing so loud the neighbors asked if he was gonna be spending the night. LOL!! We sent Jace home with my mom and we stayed overnight with Bryce. By eight o'clock he wanted to go outside to see the cat the night shift nurse had told him about so we packed up the IV pump and outside we went for a walk. He finally fell asleep about 11 that night and woke up only once for pain medicine. He ate most of his breakfast the next morning and we were on our way home by lunch. It hasn't been easy to keep them both inside and still for long but we have managed. Things look good so far and we go back to the ENT in two weeks for a checkup. I am so proud and happy that they did so well. I need to send a special thanks to our family for being there and helping out and all the gifts that were brought for the boys.

Jace is here!!

Jace arrived Thursday February 18, 2010 at 10:11am. He was a whopping 8lbs 14 ozs and 21 inches long. He was just perfect in every way! After all the complications with this pregnancy, preterm labor, high blood pressure, etc. he finally made his way here. I had gone to the doctor Wednesday and she told me it probably wouldn't be long but she wasn't comfortable inducing me yet. I was very disappointed. When you get to the end of a pregnancy, you're just ready for them to get here already! That night while laying in bed, I started having contractions about 5 mins apart. My mother and I decided it was time to head to the hospital about 11:00 that night since they weren't going away. When we arrived, naturally my blood pressure was outrageous so Dr. Pennebaker decided to keep me and induce me the following morning. YAY! After 4 hours of Pitocin (that stuff is the devil), a terrible epidural experience, and awful spinal headache it was time to push. After three pushes he arrived. Beautiful baby boy! Just perfect!! We are so in love and can't wait for Bryce to meet him!

Baby #2 is.........

Well, if you guessed girl, you were wrong, just like me. It's a BOY! Another one! LOL. We are so excited. Jace Kellen Jaxon Coleman is on his way. I was so convinced this one was a girl I almost didn't believe the US tech when she said boy, but when I saw the screen, there was NO denying it. He is definitely a boy, lol. And soooo precious. We can't wait to meet him.

We're Pregnant Again!

We found out we were pregnant with Coleman #2 today! We are so excited and can not wait to find out what it will be. I had been feeling really yucky lately and had actually taken a pregnancy test the weekend before but it came back negative. Thinking I was just coming down with a cold or something, I wrote it off as no big deal. But the farther along the week went the nastier I felt. So Monday I went shopping and picked up another test not really expecting it to be positive. When I took it however, it was. I was completely shocked!! I couldn't believe it, we hadn't even been trying, if anything we'd been trying to prevent it. WOW! I was half way through nursing school with another baby on the way. We soon took it as a sign this little one was supposed to be here and with us and were overjoyed. Our families were as well. We were so surprised and happy with this new development in our lives. God is good!

Bryce is here!!

Our sweet little boy arrived today, and he could not be more precious. We are ecstatic. My water broke while momma and I were eating at Olive Garden, yes this really did happen. I didn't realize what it was at first but then after talking with Dr. Pennebaker's nurse I was instructed to go straight to L&D. I arrived there around 3:30 or 4:00 and it was confirmed my water had broken. I was admitted and Pitocin was started. I finally reached Shaun after many call attempts and explained that I was in the hospital in labor. He didn't seem to believe me at first though after a few more minutes of me insisting it was true he finally realized I wasn't joking! I finally got my epidural around 1:00 am and then was able to rest comfortably until it was time to push. Bryce made his appearance at 5:24 am after and hour and a half of pushing. All 8lbs 13oz, 19 1/4" of him. LOL. He is so preciuos and we are so blessed.

We're Pregnant!

We found we were pregnant with our first little one in May 2007. It was Memorial Day and I was home alone. Shaun had to work and I happened to get the holiday off. I decided to run some everyday errands since I was home alone. For some reason I decided to buy a pregnancy test while in the store and took it when I got home. To my surprise it was positive. I remember standing in the bathroom and looking at myself in the mirror as I jumped up and down with excitement. Then I quickly stopped jumping not knowing if I would hurt the baby. How funny! I wanted to do something special to tell Shaun but I just couldn't wait until he was off so I went back to the store, lol, and bought a father's day card. It just happened to be that time of year. I placed the test inside and drove from Monroe to Bastrop to his job. I called when I got there and he came out to meet me. When he opened the card, he was really confused at first with it saying happy fathers day, but when he opened it, his face lit up. It was one of the biggest smiles I think I've ever seen him have. He couldn't believe it. I remember him asking if I was serious. Ha, no I was just playing, yeah right. Anyway, we did the same thing to break the news to his parents and to my mom. I had to tell her over the phone however and give her her card later. They were all plesantly surprised and so happy for us. Little Coleman #1 is on the way!

Our wedding day......
It all began with me waking up to a loud crash at about 9:00 am. I had stayed at my grandmothers house the night before with my mom and thought that she must be up in the kitchen cooking or something. I got up to see what the noise was and realized I was home alone. So I decided I needed to investigate the cause of all the clatter. After searching the house I decided to peak out the window to discover my grandmother half in the driveway and cars lined up behind her. Apparently, as she tried to turn into the driveway a man decided to pass her in a no passing zone and they had a collision. Luckily, neither were hurt, a little bruised, but ok. So after all that was cleared up, I left to get my hair and nails done at my aunts beauty shop. When I arrived, I found my mother there getting her hair and nails done also. My aunt curled my hair and sprayed it with enough hairspray for about 10 little old ladies I think and then it was time for my nails. After hair and nails it was lunch time and then off to the church. When we arrived at the church the girls and I grabbed a sunday school room in the fellowship hall and the men stayed in the family life center. Makeup was done, dress put on, garters in place, more hairspray applied, and then it was picture time. I think we took pictures for about 2 hours before the wedding and by that time my cheeks felt like they were paralyed into a constant smile. Who knew smiling so much could hurt so much? Shaun and I didn't keep to the old tradition of not seeing the bride before the wedding. We're pretty new school anyway. We had all our pictures done before the wedding.
Our ceremony started promtly at 6:00 at Rayville United Methodist Church with Brother Ted Freeland marrying us. The sanctuary was decorated with flowers only in shades of purples. The church is already beautiful, there's not much you can add to it. The girls all wore purple and lavendar strapless plaid tops with ankle lenght purple skirts. The men were all in tuxes. I walked myself down the isle since daddy watched from heaven, I know he was probably breaking down since he was convinced I wasn't getting married, even after we ordered the dress, LOL! We finished our ceremony in a record 30 minutes and then had our reception to follow in the family life center. For our reception, Shaun and I built small wooden boxes that held our centerpieces for each table. Each one was filled with lillies and each had a small birds nest with eggs. We had also cut down a small tree that we placed into another very large "planter" we built and placed it in the center of the room. From here Mrs. Chris hung flowers and tea lights which were lit. We served mainly appetizer type foods like meatballs, roast with small buns, there was of course plenty of cake. We were there for all our pictures, the garter toss and bouquet toss and then Shaun disappeared. It was only after I recieved a note from the men that I realized he had been kidnapped by his groomsmen. I was told I must collect at least $100 to have him return. I started out collecting money and then my junior bridesmaid Bella decided she wanted to. Fine with me, I fixed a plate of food and kicked back to eat while she did the "hard" work. Once we had the money, which was well over $100, we placed a call and Shaun was returned unharmed, LOL. We changed and headed to my car to find it covered in, ahem, well, we just wont say what, lol. Anyway, we loaded up, said our goodbyes and headed for home where we packed up our cat and hit the road for Hot Springs!
