Dug Free Week!
This week at Bryce's school is drug free week, as well as other schools I'm told. Every day we have had a different dress up theme. Monday was wear red day, Tuesday camo day, Wednesday cowboy day, Thursday silly sock day, and Friday jersey day. We dressed up everyday so far, but today was by far the cutest. I will post some pics later on. He decided to wear hid blue plaid shirt with jeans, cow print chaps, boots and of course his black cowboy hat! He LOVED it, and was SOOO cute!

The Weekend
This past weekend was tiring, to say the least. I was on call for work and that left Shaun with the boys. Saturday, I woke up to get the boys and myself ready for Bryce's football game and was called out for a case that started at 9:00. I helped Shaun finish getting them ready and then headed to work. My mom, Shaun, Jace, Danny, and Janice were all in attendance for Bryce's game and said he did awesome. Hiked the ball and got to run it and almost made a touchdown except for one little guy who finally ran him down just short of the touchdown. Hate I missed it. After the game MiMi and Paw took the boys to their house for the night and Shaun and I had a nice afternoon after I got home from work. He has been dying to go play golf so I went with him and played the part of "caddy". Basically, I drove the cart and fought mosquitos, lol. We headed home and cooked supper and while he watched the game I read a book. Never have been one for football on TV. Sunday I got called back in and when I got home we headed to get the boys after their birthday party adventure where they had great fun. Maybe next weekend will be a little more relaxing. Yeah, right!

Flag Football
Bryce has started flag football this fall. We talked about it and he decided he wanted to play. He is playing through the YMCA and we have 12 boys on our team at Lakeshore. He has had fun practicing and we've had fun watching him although sometimes he gets bored and we have to have "pep talks" as I laike to call them, lol. We had our first game September 23 at ULM and he played really well. Our last game he did even better. Can't wait for Jace to be old enough to play since we have to hold him the whole time to keep him off the field and out of the way of the boys playing. LOL
Reads Lately
I've been very busy lately it seems with Bryce in school now, working 5 days a week, and Jace in mother's day out and at stephanies, and Bryce also playing flag footbal we are one busy family. Anyway, I've only gotten the chance to really sit down and read one book lately and I got it from Lindsey from www.pigtailsandparsely.blogspot.com. It's called This Side Of Heaven and it's a total tearjerker. Hope you like it!
Wine Tasting!
No, I didn't attend a wine tasting as the title implies. Instead I have found a wine that I like the taste of. YAY!! I've never been much of a wine connoisseur since I have never been able to stand the taste of the wines I've been asked to try. Well, all that changed this past weekend. Shaun cousin, Jennifer, text me Saturday night and asked if we would like to bring the boys over and let the kids roast some smoars in their firepit and play for a while. Sure, so we headed over to their place. The ladies decided to pull out the wine and instantly I was refusing. I don't like wine! But finally Jennifer convinced me to just try it, so I did and then I had my own glass after that, and then we went to get more, lol. We had a great time roasting marshmellows and drinking our mascato fireside. Can't wait to do it again!

Pumpkin Patch
This year for our annual pumpkin patch adventure we went back to Curry's for a great time. They have added some new attractions and the kids had a blast! We were met by my husbands sister and her husband and child and his cousins and their kids. The boys had fun playing in the hay, feeding the goats, and picking pumpkins. We came home with 6 pumkins, plenty to carve!!

Back to School
Well, Bryce is 4 so we all know what that means, school time. UGH! My baby should not be this old yet, he just shouldn't. Anyway, Pre-K at Lakeshore is where he will be. I'm still in so much shock! My mom and I took the boys shopping Friday and finished up buying uniforms. Jace of course had to have at least one set also and got to pick his out. He decided on a yellow polo and navy shorts, LOL! It won't be long before we will be doing all this over again for him. My babies are growing up WAY to fast! But between my mom and mother-in-law we have all our supplies already! YAY!

One of those days!
Have you ever had one of those days where you think that the cosmos must have aligned, and not to your favor? Yesterday was my day.
Everything was fine. Got the boys up, got them to Mrs. Stephanies for daycare, came home to write a paper for school. After I really got to looking at my grades in this one certain nursing class, I realized I wasn't doing as hot as I thought I was. So, after much soul searching, tears, and disappointment in myself, I have decided to withdraw completely from this semester. I have had a VERY hard time dealing with this. It seems like failure to me. How I was able to just drop classes without a care when I was 18 I don't know. I dropped more classes then than babies do sippy cups. I just don't know how to feel about this.
Anyway, I spent most of the rest of the day moping around feeling disappointed. Finally I relized that I don't have any more assignments or due dates to worry with for at least 3 months and that lifted a HUGE weight off my shoulders. A little relief.
I started cooking around 5:00 and when Shaun got home I decided to go get the boys around 5:30. Our new puppy Chopper has been staying outside since he cannot get over being alone at night inside. Usually, when we crank our cars he takes off in a full sprint from the vehicles. Not this time however. He decided he would stay under Shaun's truck while I backed out and OVER HIM!!! OMG, I have never been so scared in my life!! I jumped out of the truck thinking he was going to be dying under it. After many tears, AGAIN, I took him to Monroe Animal Health on 165 north to Dr. West, who was so great and let me bring him in right at closing. After X-rays, she decided he may not have any broken bones but that they would keep him just to make sure.
I got a call this morning from them. They said he is much better, actually putting weight on his back right leg and she will be sending him home this afternoon. THANK YOU GOD!!! You answer prayers!
So, after making it home and eating, I decided it was bath time for mommy. Well, how exactly do you take a bath in a one bathroom home with two boys and a husband without locking the door? Answer: you don't. First Bryce needed a hug. Really? A hug? I'm in the tub!! SHAUN!!! Come get them please!
Then Jace needs something 10 minutes later and won't leave! SHAUN!! Come get him please! Well after this last time when daddy was aggravated and mommy was slap wore out, I got out. And then it was bedtime for the boys.
Bryce has recently figured out that if he starts at bedtime saying he wants something to drink and eat and he wants to give you a hug and a kiss and he needs this and that, that he will get to stay up an extra 5 minutes. We have been trying to crack down on this by making him eat when the rest of us do, but there are many night where he ABSOLUTELY refuses. So, being HATEFUL, MEAN, UGLY parents we send him to be "hungry". Yeah right!!! Last night he started in and we told him NO! 30minuets later he was STILL crying and screaming how he was hungry and mommy had had enough. Opening the door into their room from the hall with my left had on the door landed my fingers in between it and the other door in their room from the kitchen. I literally thought I had broken all my fingers on my left hand. They are bruised and swollen today and terribly sore but hey will be fine.
After this it was book time, chocolate pudding time (fat free of course), and bedtime.
I really hope that yesterday was my terrible day for years to come. I don't know how I made it through!! I'm sure my mom was SOOOO tired of me calling her and crying. Today will be MUCH better, cause I'm gonna make it better!!
Another edition of my beautiful life!

Jace is 2!!
WOW! I can't believe this has gotten here so fast. Jace is 2. It seems unreal, like I was just holding him in my arms, and waking up for midnight feedings. But no, he now walks and talks and has his own little ATTITUDE! LOL. If you've ever been around him you know what I mean. He doesn't hesitate to let you know EXACTLY how he feels. This will prove to be a very interesting 16 more years or so. Ha! Anyway, we had his party at our house with a ball theme (what else?), that he absolutely loved. He is all about balls, any kind will do, baseballs, footballs, he doesn't care. Mostly just family showed, and that was nice. I'm sure starting next year we will have kids running everywhere for Bryce's birthday, so just to be able to enjoy family was good. He received so much stuff its hard to name it all. Books, clothes, movies, bath stuff and a few toys. He was super excited about it all. We had so much fun and made memories to last a lifetime!

Valentines Day
So this year for Valentines Day the boys had parties at both MDO and Mrs. Stephanies. I asked Bryce to choose which one he wanted to go to as they couldn't attend both, and he chose Mrs. Stephanie's. Fine with me it didn't matter, they had a blast. So for valentines, I had seen some cute ideas on Pinterest and decided to try one with Bryce, Jace is still too young to do much with pictures. Monday night I grabbed my phone, since my camera is down right now, and we took some really cute pictures which I will post later on. Let me say, it was hilarious the pictures we took. So, after many kissy face shots we finally got one I could work with. While Shaun put the boys in the bed, I worked on Valentines for their party. Pictures, ziploc bags, hershey's kisses, and some staples later I was finally done with 12 of them. Jace took some generic ones for this year maybe next year we can do something fun with him as well. Stephanie and Jessica had a fit over them because they were so cute, as well as the grandma's of course. It's never not cute if it's your grandchild, right? Let me know what you think!

Bryce is 4!!
My my how time flies. Isn't that the saying? Well, it's true. I can't believe my oldest, little man is 4 already! It seems like just yesterday I was holding him in my arms and rocking him in the rocker. He has gotten so big so fast. He will be starting Pre-K this year in August, sniff sniff, breaks mommas heart.
Anyway, enough about my emotions ;)! He wanted a monster trucks party for his birthday this year so we got a big monster trucks cake and decorations and had it at Excalibur again this year. He loved it so much last year we decided to do it again. This year was no different, he had a blast as well as most of the other kids. I think some of the parents had fun to. He got everything from clothes to movies to a police robot car that transforms and shoots darts (thanks Heather, I will remember when Farrah has a birthday, JK). Anyway, he played and played and played and did not want to leave when it was FINALLY time to go. He and Jace didn't even make it home, and they sacked out in the car. It was a great time for all of us and even though he will be a year older, I can't wait to do it again next year.

Christmas 2011!
Christmas for us was CRAZY!! Always is. We have so many parties to attend, shopping to do, and places to be it's just ridiculous. We have Christmas at our house that morning with us the kids and momma, then with my mom's family that day at lunch, then we drive to his family's house and do Christmas with his dad's side usually.
This year was a little different. I had to work Christmas day and was not planning on being able to attend the festivities. I ended up getting off work early though and was able to spend some time with my family and then go to his family's house. We did Santa and opened our gifts on Christmas Eve morning. The boys were spoiled by Santa this year, as in the years before. We spoiled them a little too. MiMi and Paw always have lots of toys for the boys and KK always has very practical and useful gifts. We enjoyed everything. Here are a few pics from the opening festivities.

December 2011!!!
So a quick update on the boys.
Bryce........
Bryce is almost 4! It's so hard to believe he has grown up this fast! I miss my lil baby who I could hold in my arms and rock the day away! Anyway, he is sooo active. Into everything. He loves trucks and tractors and he is asking for a " big jeep for in the mud" from Santa. Yes, it is that time of year, and yes he is all about Santa this year, and yes we are doing Elf on the Shelf. Our elf's name is Sid. We got him on Thanksgiving day this year when K.K. brought him to meet the boys. When I asked Bryce why he wanted to name him Sid he told me "off IceAge momma." Then I finally figured out that he named our elf after the sloth on Ice Age. LOL!! Anyway, finding a new place to put Sid every morning before they wake up is pretty much a pain since we don't have very many places up high where the boys can't reach him. Yesterday he ended up in our ceiling fan.
Anyway, back to Bryce. He is 40 pounds and up to my hip. He is soooo sweet at times and then other times he is capital B-A-D, but so is his brother, LOL. He is loving "play school" as he calls it or mother's day out at north monroe baptist church. He and Jace go there every Tuesday and Thursday and love it. They are also at Mrs. Stephanie's just around the corner on other days and we are so blessed to have her and Jessica. They have truly been a God send this year. Bryce now knows his ABC's and can sing them for anyone who asks. He can count to twenty most days, he is fully potty trained with only a few accidents here and there, and he is working on yes and no maam and sir. He is really growing!!
Jace.....
Jace is now 22 months old, my how time flies! He is above my knees in height and he weighs 29 pounds. Jace is my sweet lil man. But remember he is BAD too!! He likes to cuddle, but only when HE wants too. He is funny, lord, he is a clown!! He loves balls, and right now the Christmas tree is covered in balls. Thank God they are all plastic on the bottom or I would have lots of broken glass around my house. He is a busy body, always doing something and he loves to clean. He likes to help out around the house and if you ask him he will pick up toys, throw things away, and he especially LOVES to help unload the dishwasher. He still loves shoes, and tractors like his brother, but he's starting to like cars. I think a ball will always be his number one toy though, LOL! He can now say Momma, DaDa ( even though he calls Shaun Momma), Bryce which sounds like Bice, K.K. Which is "Tay Tay", Paw, ball of course, and many other words. He still meows at the cat for her name.
My boys are growing so rapidly everyday it's sometimes hard to keep track. SLOW DOWN TIME!!!

The Boys Today
So.. My friend Lindsay tells me I don't blog enough and in truth she is right. I want to keep up but it's so hard to do right now with all I have going on. School is kicking my bootie!! But I wanted to update you on the boys.
Bryce is all boy as always. He has picked out EVERY toy in the Toys R Us big toy book this year and he drags it around everywhere! He is completely potty trained and has slept in his "big boy bed" in his room with Jace for the last three nights in a row. YEAH!!! Mommy and daddy have their bed back after 3 almost 4 years!! We have started a new routine where we have baths at 7:30 and in the bed by 8:30. If theres a movie they want to watch great, but bed by 8:30 it is. So far it has worked!! Bryce is almost four and it breaks my heart to think he's growing up soo fast. He is 39 pounds now and he's up to my hip in height, however tall that is!! LOL!
Jace is almost two and yet again my heart breaks when I think about how fast he has grown. Before long I'll be writing about how he will be driving it seems. Anyway, he is 28 pounds now and he is up to Bryce's shoulder in his height. Shaun keeps saying how he thinks he's small for his age but I think he's probably just right. ;) He has become more active over the last few months and he's getting where he is all about tractors. Who would have thunk it? Wonder where that came from? He is still a little sweetheart, kisses all the time. Last night after bath time he had to play with daddy and everytime Shaun would blow in his face he would grab Shaun's cheeks and pull him to him for a big 'ole smack!! He is too funny and sweet!
Just a quick update on the boys and how they are growing so fast!! A glimpse into my beautiful life!

Bryce's Checkup
So today was the day to see if Bryce's ears had improved since we started Augmentin and ear drops for the MOLD growing in his ear. We saw the nurse practitioner again who informed us that there is no more mold, however his tube is still occluded and there is still lots of fluid on his left ear. When she did her exam she also informed us that more than likely we will be removing both tubes and replacing them before the end of the year if we can get him well enough for surgery. OMG!! I can not believe we are considering this again. Has anyone had this trouble before? Am I alone with this struggle with ear tubes? Out of everything that could go wrong, ear tubes? Really? Anyway, please keep us in your thoughts while we make these decisions. Much appreciated.

Jace's Ears!
Today I had to take Jace for a checkup with our new ENT!! I love him he is GREAT!! Anyway, we got there and saw his nurse practitioner today who informed me that Jace's hearing is excellent and his tubes were in good position and open when we had his hearing test done a week ago. She proceeded to do her exam and when she got to his right ear she gave me so news that I am sooo not happy about. In one week since his hearing test his right tube has stopped up!! So now we have ear drops and peroxide solution to try and unstop this tube. I almost CRIED!! I told her I am sooooo frustrated with this whole tube situation with both boys always having something wrong!! Anyway, we now will have a return visit sometime in late November for another check up! Please keep us in your prayers!

Bryce's Ear's
Today is Halloween, and what are we doing? Well, not the usual activities that most people would be. No, we are at the ENT!! AGAIN!! But we chose to use a different doctor from the one who put their tubes in. If you have read my previous post then you know we had tubes placed in both boys ears in April and have been having trouble. Well Bryce woke up from his nap at MiMi's house yesterday late SCREAMING!! This is not his usual behavior so I was a little concerned when I couldn't get him to stop crying. He kept telling us his ear hurt and pointing to his left ear. Well that's the ear that the tube has been stopped up in and he has had an infection in it so I thought it was just regular pain. Apparently not. I ended up taking him in to the ENT today where I was informed that my sweet boy has MOLD yes MOLD growing in his ear. WHAT?! I know, gross isn't it? The tube is still stopped up and there is still fluid behind it, oh and his other tube in his right ear, well it's come out completely. Sitting in his ear canal. So we start a different antibiotic and different ear drops today. Jace will be coming to the ENT on Thursday for his check up and to get the results of hid hearing test we had done about a week ago, both boys did. Bryce's hearing seems to be fine but he has so much fluid on his left ear his hearing is diminished by 20-35% says the doc. I'm so frustrated with the tubes I could just SCREAM!! Anyway, we also ended up doing xrays of his sinuses and we will see where we go from there. Please keep my lil men in your prayers!!

Ears, UGH!!!
So back in April of this year both boys had tubes placed by a doctor I won't name here. We were told that tonsils and adenoids should be removed for Bryce and tubes placed in both ears and Jace should have his adenoids removed and tubes placed in both ears as well due to the number of infections we had been having. So we decided to go ahead and do it even though we had our reservations about it. Both boys did fine although Bryce had to stay overnight in the hospital for his tonsils we left the next afternoon after a long sleepless night. So now here we are six months later and we have EAR INFECTIONS!!! Really? With tubes? Yes with tubes. We are starting ear drops on both boys and antibiotics. I thought when we did all this they would be better for a while but I guess six months is as good as it gets. Who knew?? I will update later on on their condition and how it's all going.

Jace @ 17months
So my "baby" is 17 months old now and it seems like he is growing inches everyday. I can't believe how fast time flies. It seems like he was just born and then we just had his 1st birthday and now he's almost 1 1/2 years old. He is such a happy boy, he's always laughing. He LOVES to play with a ball, anytime and all day. He can entertain himself for hours just throwing it around. He is sooo cute. He'll hold the ball over his head and wait for you to count. One....Two.... and then he screams TREEE and throws the ball at you. You had better be ready to, for such a little guy he certainly has a big arm. There have been many times when he's caught me off guard and hit me in the head, HARD!
He loves to laugh too. Anything will get him started. He especially likes to play "Where's Jace?". If you ask him where's Jace he'll put his hands over his eyes and stand completely still for a few seconds and then throw his arms out and holler "Eyyyyyyy". Then he's all laughs and giggles and then it's time to repeat. He now says Momma, Dada, thank you, welcome, and meows like a cat while he's chasing the cat around the house.
He's growing so much and changing everyday. I love my little men with all my heart.
